The First Annual ‘Greg Rider Golf Classic’

The first annual ‘Greg Rider Golf Classic’ held in partnership with the Strathmore Golf Club, exceeded all expectations as we rallied the community for a cause close to our hearts—mental health. Despite a tight timeframe of just a month and a half, the event garnered remarkable support, raising over $15,000 dedicated to mental health initiatives in Strathmore.

The turnout was nothing short of amazing, highlighting the genuine commitment of attendees who joined us with a shared purpose: advocating for mental health awareness. It was a testament to the community’s recognition of the importance of fostering conversations around mental well-being.

The idea for this event came to Greg from a personal commitment to contribute to mental health causes and wanting to help families that were directly impacted. Inspired to make a difference, the concept for the golf tournament took shape, and with dedicated efforts from Greg Rider, Lee Roller, Sean Duthie and a team of passionate volunteers, we turned this vision into a reality.

The success of the first annual Golf Classic fuels our motivation to continue this meaningful tradition. As we reflect on the impact of the event, it reinforces the vital role community-driven initiatives play in raising awareness and support for mental health. With gratitude for the overwhelming response, we eagerly anticipate the journey ahead, already setting our sights on next year’s event—a testament to the enduring commitment to making a positive impact on mental health in communities across Canada.
